Lavender Oat Milk Latte (Print version)

A floral oat milk latte with lavender and espresso. Easy, dairy-free, and comforting for any occasion.

# What You'll Need:

→ Lavender Syrup

01 - 1/4 cup water
02 - 1/4 cup granulated sugar
03 - 1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender buds

→ Latte

04 - 2 shots (2 oz) espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
05 - 2 cups oat milk
06 - 2–3 tablespoons lavender syrup
07 - Ice (optional, for iced latte)

# How to Make:

01 - Combine water, granulated sugar, and dried lavender buds in a small saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat and stir until the sugar dissolves. Simmer for 2 minutes, then remove from heat and allow to steep for 5 minutes. Strain out lavender buds and let syrup cool.
02 - Prepare espresso shots or brew strong coffee using an espresso machine or coffee maker.
03 - Warm oat milk in a saucepan or froth with a milk frother until hot and foamy. For iced preparation, use chilled oat milk instead.
04 - Pour lavender syrup into a serving mug or glass. Add espresso or coffee followed by oat milk. Stir gently until integrated.
05 - If making an iced latte, fill the glass with ice before adding espresso and oat milk.
06 - Garnish with a sprinkle of dried lavender buds or a twist of lemon zest if desired.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You can dial up the lavender flavor to suit your mood, making each cup uniquely yours.
  • The oat milk gives it a creamy texture perfect for vegans and anyone who loves a dairy-free option.
02 -
  • I once left the lavender buds steeping too long, and the syrup turned bitter—stick to the time for a gentle flavor.
  • Adding your syrup before the milk helps it mix evenly and avoids sweet pockets at the bottom of your cup.
03 -
  • Steep the lavender for just five minutes—any longer risks bitterness.
  • Let your syrup cool fully before mixing, or your latte won't layer properly.
